It’s amazing how a smell can leave a lasting impression with you and tickle a certain memory. My first touring experience one of the very distinctive smell that stuck to me was the warm smell of ginger n garlic being sauté in sesame oil. It was 6 in the evening and we were cycling pass a small Chinese village and that smell made the 3 of us instantly hungry. It also brought me home at that moment. The comfortable image of my family getting plates and bowls , setting up the table, poking fun and anxiously waiting for the piping hot dishes to be brought out of the kitchen.
